Applicant LRHammel Realty, LLC owns land located at 2471 South 1700 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84106, upon which Applicant’s affiliate, LRHammel Management dba Salt Lake Tennis & Health Club (“SLT”), operates a tennis and health facility. The Salt Lake Tennis Club was founded in 1912 and was a Salt Lake City institution for more than 100 years, providing affordable, year-round tennis facilities to city residents. In 2013, as bankruptcy loomed for the Salt Lake Tennis Club, Applicant purchased the Salt Lake Tennis Club property, renovated and expanded the facilities, and opened the Salt Lake Tennis and Health Club to serve further generations of Salt Lake City residents. Laury Hammel, principal of Applicant and SLT, is a member of the family that helped to run the Salt Lake Tennis Club in years past.
