SH LUZ REPORT 2016 May

Sugar House Form-based Special Purpose Corridor District  May 24 the City Council held a Public Hearing on this, and they kept the public hearing open, so people who have not yet commented can do so.  You can send an email to council.comments@slcgov.com, or you can attend the public hearing and speak.  That is tentatively set for June 7, and they may vote on this that night.  You can find a slider to this proposal on our website www.sugarhousecouncil.org.

SH Fire Station #3 Design is on our agenda for June 1 SHCC.  Amy and I met with the city and the architects, and the design has been tweaked a bit.  We hope to see some new materials.  The new drawings will go on our website tomorrow. We are still taking comments on our website. This will go to the Planning Commission for approval July 13.
On June 16 the Land Use Committee  reviewed the proposal by John Gardiner to build an apartment building on 974 East 2100 South, consisting of 126 apartments, with 135 parking stalls.  There is no retail in the building, and no affordable housing.  That proposal will also be reviewed by the full Sugar House Community Council at its June 1 meeting.
CVS has just sent us another drawing.  They have asked to be on the City Council agenda, and  hope we will be able to review their new plans before that.  They are looking for a favorable recommendation from us.  We have not yet reviewed that drawing.
East Bench Master Plan and Parley’s Way Corridor Plan – A City initiated petition to update the East Bench Master Plan and to develop a specific corridor plan for Parley’s Way. The project area is bounded by South Temple and the University of Utah northern property lines to the north, University Street and 1300 East to the west, 1700 South to 2300 East to Parley’s Way to the South, and the City boundary to the east. The plans will establish goals and policies related to the future growth and development of the East Bench Community. The project area is located in Council Districts 5 represented by Erin Mendenhall, 6 represented by Charlie Luke, and 7 represented by Lisa Adams. The draft plans can be reviewed atwww.slcgov.com/opencityhall. (Staff contact: Wayne Mills at (801)535-7282 orwayne.mills@slcgov.com.) Case Number PLNPCM2014-00139  The Planning Commission tabled this to a later date.
Three new projects that we know will be filed soon:
Boulder Ventures proposal on McClelland and Sugarmont.   We are told that this project is close to coming to us for review, and as soon as we receive it, we will put it up on our website.  At that point it will be scheduled for our Land Use and Zoning Committee, and then to the full SHCC.
Cowboy Partners is proposing a Planned Unit Development at approximately  600 East and Wilmington.  I am told this will be 3 story townhomes with an enclosed garage.  We expect we will see the plans soon.
Hotel at Sugar House Center- Springhill Suites.  This hotel will be located East of The former Toys R Us, west of Taco Time.  The plans for this will be coming to us shortly.
Land Use and zoning Committee meeting will be Monday June 20 at 6 p.m. in Sprague Library
Agenda could be  CVS, the hotel, the Cowboy Partner’s project,  or the Boulder Ventures new plans for McClelland. I will send out an agenda about June 15, and put the agenda on the calendar on our website.
