25 Oct Rezone Old Fire Station #3 in Sugar House
The first step in redeveloping this parcel is to rezone the property where the Sugar House Fire Station #3 was located. It is currently designated as “Institutional and Public Lands”, and the current zoning of the property is PL Public Lands. This proposal would modify the parcel in the master plan to be called “Business District Mixed-Use Town Center Scale” CSHBD-1 Sugar House Business District 1 to match the zoning of the parcel to the east (the old Deseret Industries Building). To be able to redevelop both parcels as one, they need to both be the same zone.
Here is the information Salt Lake City has sent to us about this rezone. This was reviewed at the SHCC Land Use and Zoning (LUZ) Committee on October 11 at 6 pm. You can still send your comments to me up until November 23.. It is expected this will go to the Planning Commission on November 24. Anyone who sends a comment will get instructions on how to attend and/or speak at the PC meeting.
