Spring is finally trying to emerge. It is a great time to be in Sugar House.

There is a lot going on issue wise as well. Be sure to read the “Upcoming Land Use Issues/Meetings” below.
Some of the SHCC leadership met with the Community & Economic Development Director Mike Reberg and the Community Relations Director Jennifer Seelig to introduce ourselves and discuss some of our ongoing issues.
First and foremost I brought up the issue of the incomplete demolition of the Ute Car Wash. We have 238 signatures on the petition from our neighbors wanting something done about this. We were able to convey this concern and those numbers to Mr. Reberg and Ms. Seelig. They understand we are pushing for something to be done to complete the demolition and have been very keen on listening and working to find some solutions.
Judi Short and myself have continually been talking to Lisa Adams about this topic and she has agreed to address the hole in the demolition ordinance that allowed this to exist. We will continue to discuss this issue with her and alert you of opportunities to let the city council know your thoughts when this moves through the process.
The SHCC is participating again in Love UT/Give UT. We are a nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers. Your donation of $10 could really make a huge difference in our ability to continue sending this newsletter, which costs us over $300 a year. Help us maintain our website and allow us to continue to flyer on issues. Please consider making a donation March 31st.
